Bellingham Police Officer Chris Lease also works for IJM
Passionate about fighting human trafficking, Bellingham Police Officer Chris Lease spends his "vacations" working for International Justice Mission.
A BPD Facebook post on 1/31/17 explained, "Chris uses his vacation time to serve with the International Justice Mission. Chris has brought his knowledge back to our department and helped us better understand, and rescue children and adults trapped in the world of human trafficking. Thank you Chris for your commitment!
Officer Lease has traveled across Asia, Latin America and Africa to train international law enforcement authorities, enabling them to increase investigative capacity, leading to effective outcomes.
The article goes on to say, "As a Bellingham Police Officer for almost 25 years, Officer Lease has gained the investigative experience and skills for short term volunteer operations that he hopes will make a dramatic difference in the world. He has infiltrated the world of sex trafficking, bonded slavery, police abuse of power, and other forms of oppression, using the investigative techniques he has learned as a member of the Bellingham Police Department." We salute you Officer Lease! Thank you for making a difference in the world.
