"America Needs To Make Some Hard Decisions

Says guest editorialist Dana Parriera (Part 1)

From her blog "Rebellious Beauty," Dana Parriera challenges Americans to"...demand that our nation become a safe place for our children and our children's children."

Dana says, "According to the U.S. State Department report, the United States has become the second most trafficked country in the world, as sex trafficking has become a $32 Billion dollar a year industry...  And the U.S. Department of Justice reported that the sex slaves were 83% American citizens and as young as five years old in the United States.

What is the average age of those prostituted in America?
...12 years old.

These are our children.

America needs to make some hard decisions. Either let this continue. Or stop the effects of Sex Trafficking in America. How can we be a Country of Freedom, if we enslave America's citizens or other citizens for the sexual exploitation of selfish pleasures of those who live in our Country?

“Human sex trafficking is the most common form of modern-day slavery, amounting to the fastest growing business of organized crime and the third largest criminal enterprise in the world. Sex trafficking crimes include prostitution, pornography, stripping, live-sex shows, mail-order brides, military prostitution, and sex tourism.”

We can not be a Free Country - if there are still modern slaves in our 21st Century society. You can not have equality and freedom, if we have Human Slaves among us.

I thought America was known for her Freedom? Let America then become the forerunner for Freedom to all Nations. Let us make America the leading example of what countries should do, in order to extinguish trafficking."

Are you up for the challenge?  Join Hope4Justice efforts (or take concrete steps on your own) to fight trafficking where you are, in a way that works for you.
