KING 5 reports on trafficking

Trafficking has literally been in the news quite a bit lately.  On October 26th, KING 5 News aired "Unshackled - A Prostitute's Journey to Freedom".  The KING 5 website says, "This story is affiliated with Selling Girls, a nine-month nationwide investigation into sex trafficking. TEGNA, our parent company, launched the project at each of our 46 stations across the country to help hundreds of thousands of American kids who are lured into a life they didn't choose."

In the weeks since there have been additional segments in the series.  Each shines the light on a different aspect of sex trafficking.  The segments include:

KING 5 has also featured, "Washington's Child Sex Trafficking Victims Sometimes Punished As Criminals," and "A Pimp's Playbook: How A Former Pimp Talked His Way Into Women's Lives."

Awareness is the first step in fighting trafficking.  The TEGNA Company to which KING 5 belongs, is doing an excellent job of investigating the issue, reporting the facts and making it's viewers aware of the realities of sex trafficking.

Use this accumulation of information!  When someone you know asks, "Trafficking doesn't happen here... does it?" refer them to one or more of these links.  And click here to let KING 5 know that their investigative reporting is appreciated.
