“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”
— Matthew 10:26
Praise God for two successful arrests of domestic violence perpetrators in Uganda. In both cases, the men had been beating their wives for years. The IJM Uganda Community Relations Officer said this in response to these arrests: “I’m very happy to see that what seemed impossible is happening. This is a community that never believed that anyone could be arrested for assaulting a woman in a relationship. It’s unheard of. But we are making it possible. We are living through history. We thank God for this and pray for continued justice!”
Pray for more open doors for our Bolivia team as they continue to reach out to local organizations to develop strategic partnerships to ignite a movement of justice in the country. The more local professionals are equipped to provide adequate legal and aftercare services to survivors of sexual violence and bring perpetrators to justice, the more sustainable change will be achieved in this nation. Pray that our teams are able to identify and train more local partners who are willing to learn and contextualize IJM’s model to help protect and restore victims of sexual violence.
Praise God for 15 people, including six children, rescued from a rice mill where they had been enslaved for four years. The families that were rescued had taken a loan of less than $300, and after four years of work they were told that not only had they not paid it off, it had nearly doubled. Praise God for the good work of government officials, and pray for these families as they begin a new life of freedom.
Join us in asking God to bring urgent rescue to vulnerable migrant workers trapped in slavery in the Thai fishing industry. As we work with our partners in the region, pray that God would bring cases of trafficking to light and embolden trafficking victims to come forward. Pray also that we are able to support Thai law enforcement effectively, so that together we can find and rescue victims, even as they’re moving between ports and trapped on fishing boats miles away from shore.

Please continue to pray for the volunteers and champions who are hosting Rescue Parties in their communities around the U.S. Please pray for clarity and creativity as these hosts raise awareness of modern-day slavery in their networks and communities, and invite others to join the fight as Freedom Partners.
