Recent arrests in the news:
Can we call it good news when men who commit crimes of child porn and trafficking are caught? Yes. But the bad side of that same news is that those arrests also reveal some of the ugly underbelly of our society that we don't see or think about every day. It gives us a glimpse of demeaning exploitation that, quite frankly, many people just don't want to acknowledge.
"After all - it's not happening here. Not in our town. Not in our backyard..." or so we'd like to think. But that thinking is wrong. It is happening here. It's just happening behind closed doors, out of our sight. Vulnerable children and adult victims are being exploited.
After reading the articles listed below, you are encouraged to go back to the top of this page and sign up for the sex trafficking seminar on 7/27/19. What you learn may help arrest the next predator -- or better yet, prevent a predator from exploiting a child you know.
