This is how it works... Working together to fight trafficking in Whatcom County

In early June we wrote an email titled, "9 Mobile Apps Parents and Others Should Know About."  One of our readers, Kay, got back to us this week to share how that info is now being used at Peace Health Pediatrics!

Kay said, "I’m so thankful for these emails, and feel empowered when I am able to pass on the info. I work at PeaceHealth Pediatrics and was recently able to pass on the info about the “9 Apps Parents Should Know About.” I asked if we could include that info in our quarterly clinic newsletter. But our lead physician had concerns that getting the info out that way may backfire on us. She could see a young person getting ahold of the newsletter and learning about the apps for possibly the first time and use them.

She really liked the info though and wanted to get it into the hands of the parents. So she talked with the marketing team, they contacted the sheriff's dept in FL that put out the info to get their permission to use it. They made a very nice flier and now our pediatricians have it as a resource to give their families when they come in for appointments!

I was so excited to be able to pass on the info and just wanted to share!  Keep up the good work! Awareness is key! One our lead nurses said “I looked at these apps and had no idea! It’s shocking!”

Kudos to Kay for sharing the "9 Apps" info with her worksite!

Increasing awareness by sharing information and figuring out how it can best be used to help safeguard our youth from predators -- that's how everyday efforts make a difference.
