“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.”
— Isaiah 53:3
Praise God for the rescue of two boys in Ghana after a family member learned about trafficking in a church service and reported that she believed the children had been trafficked. The brothers are 9 and 11 years old. They are both safe now, and one of the children said, “I am happy to be off the lake and wish to live with my mother and attend school.” Pray for their continued healing and for God to continue working through the church to spread awareness and encourage rescue.
Praise God for an effective two-day training lead by IJM El Salvador to equip 32 local professionals to better support women and children with trauma-informed care practices. Last week, IJM trained local psychologists, social workers and other staff of a local partner organization who currently work with women and children across the country. Praise God for these local professionals who are now better equipped to protect, care for and support the most vulnerable in their communities. Ask for God’s favor over these new trainees as they return to their communities and train others to do the same. With this training program, IJM aims to reach over 2,000 professionals who will be able to provide better protection and care to approximately 60,000 children!
Praise God for a successful rescue operation by a trained IJM partner that brought freedom to 28 people trapped in a brick kiln last weekend. IJM works with these like-minded grassroots organizations to expand rescue and restoration into new communities, and we are so thrilled to see their progress. The families in this case (including nine children) had been forced to work at the kiln for the last five years under exhausting conditions and impossible false debts. Praise God they are now allowed to enjoy life in freedom, and keep praying for the safety and success of our anti-slavery partners!
As a specialized law enforcement training wraps in the Philippines this week, pray that the officers would be able to quickly apply what they’ve learned to locate victims of cybersex trafficking who are in urgent need of rescue and arrest the abusers.

Please lift up the local prayer gatherings happening in communities across the U.S. this month, specifically Omaha, Lincoln, New York City, Dallas and Seattle this week. Join us in praising God for the volunteers who are leading these gatherings, and please pray that the events would rally more and more people to step into the fight against slavery through prayer.
