“He has shown you, oh man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, to walk humbly with your God.”
— Micah 6:8
Praise God for a recent case in Kenya in which four innocent people were acquitted of wrongful accusations. Pray for our teams as they work with public prosecutors to develop a standard for charging criminals that will help cases with no evidence to be quickly identified and thrown out. This has the potential to bring freedom to many who have been falsely accused of a crime and forced to wait in prison for a trial, often without legal representation.
Pray for our team rolling out a complex new case management system in partnership with the government in Guatemala. We hope this system will make cases more efficient and help courts and social services better serve children who survived sexual violence. Pray for wisdom for our team and good relationships as they collaborate on this system.
Please pray for breakthrough in our efforts to rescue girls from private sex trafficking networks, which exploit victims in homes or apartments rather than traditional brothels. These networks are technologically savvy and highly sophisticated, and they can move trafficking victims quickly if they suspect police are nearby. We are constantly learning how to track and intercept these criminals, but we need God’s intervention and breakthrough this year to set girls free. Pray for a flood of successful operations in the next few months to help disrupt these predatory networks.
Pray that six open positions on our IJM Cambodia team would be filled by candidates who bring the right experience, energy and new capacities to our team.

Please join us in praising God for the over 1,000 churches that have already signed up to participate in Freedom Sunday this year. Pray for wisdom and creativity as these churches prepare for Freedom Sunday, where they will dedicate a service to preaching about God’s heart for justice and will call their congregants to join the fight.
